Before You Take That Step…

Go ahead and make all the plans you want,

but it’s the Lord who will ultimately direct your steps.

We are all in love

with our own opinions;

convinced they’re correct.

But the Lord is in the midst of us,

testing and probing our every motive.

Before you do anything,

put your trust totally in God

and not in yourself.

Then every plan you make

will succeed.
Proverbs 16:1-3 The Passion Translation

~~~
I will be the first in saying that there was a time in particular that stands apart from the rest where I was “almost” 100% certain what I was doing was the right thing. That it was a gift from God.
And let me tell you honey, talk about getting burned?! Oh my goodness…
And because I was so convinced, the red flags that were flying high I blamed on the devil. That he was trying to rob me of something I had waited for for a very long time.
Ha!! What a LIE!
I learned a very, very valuable lesson & God taught me so much through that. I am much wiser & stronger today than I was when it happened.
Because of that I could probably say that if I had to do it over I would do it again. But I’m not so sure. It was a very trying & dark time. And the worst part about it is I compromised my convictions. I was convinced (deceived) that it was ok. All for absolutely nothing.
Please, I implore you – when something doesn’t feel quite right, or when red flags are as red as they can be – please pay attention!! PLEASE pray & then pray some more.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? – Jeremiah 17:9
Much love y’all & much more keen awareness of who & what is around you,
Bonnie
