“You might have the highest intellect in the room, you might be moved and motivated by an intensity manifesting itself in contagious passion, you might have keen insight to cut through to the heart of the issues of life, but if you don’t live with integrity, you will join the many others on the ash heap of what might have been.” – Dr. O.S. Hawkins
The abilities of the human race just blow my mind sometimes. So many people have incredible amounts of insight, wisdom & the like. People who are talented beyond measure – & everyone around them can see it. Telling stories of glory days that incite envy in the hearts of those who hear them. And then life happens.
For some trial & tribulation produces eventual strength & builds integrity- enabling the ripping free of old patterns & behaviors. And for others it’s an open door to just give up on things ever getting better. And so we stagnate. I have stood squarely in both places.
The word says that the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. But what a frustrating & conflicting existence it is to carry all of that in a broken down vessel full of holes. And no real life that isn’t propped up on a man-made crutch somehow. When the Great Mender of it all lives on the inside of us – and we can call on Him at any point to free us. We are so afraid of what that process will look like that we stay transfixed – frozen in time. Reliving in our souls over & over & over what could’ve been. What might have been. God how we need You.
You want us to rise up now – to not delay another moment. To shake off the old & be open to embrace the new. You said Lord that by Your power we can do all things.
You said that we are more than over-comers through You. Help us to take our place. To stand in that which You have called us to. To be who You say we are – not what life has hissed & lied to us that we are. Help us to see what everyone else can see. Give us Your heavenly strength in our worldly weakness. Help us to stop acting like we don’t know You. We praise you high above all these things this morning Lord.
You are the Author & Finisher of our faith. May we surrender & stop delaying the gifts You have for us.
In Jesus’ wild & wonderful name,
Amen & amen
Much love y’all & more integrity – may we continue the incredible journey to have it in spades,
