I was laying in bed at around 3am with something vying for my negative attention (which has happened quite a bit lately) & all I could think about was “Joy.” And I knew I had to write about it – because someone here needs this today.
Joy is not always just a feeling, but a knowing.
That God is who He says He is.
That He will do what He has promised He would do.
Joy can bubble up at the strangest times.
I myself have had it happen in the middle of a fiery trial – & it almost made me feel a little left of center. At a time when everything around me was supposed to be feeling dark & hopeless. But. God.
Joy is safe & warm & wraps itself around our fears & washes them away when we are on the lip of tipping right over.
Arriving like a close friend in the night when we think we are surely all alone.
It is also a weapon.
And a mighty one at that, against the snares set before us~
For the Joy of the Lord is our STRENGTH.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may OVERFLOW with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Then my head will be exalted ABOVE the enemies who surround me; at His sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.
It is the voice that whispers above the noise of confusion.
The heavenly sign that points to our faith when all else is shouting to focus on what we see.
The evidence that we are MORE than over-comers – through Jesus – because He has already defeated our enemy.
Join me today in putting on the garment of joy.
Reach deep if you must to find it – but I assure you if you are in Christ, it is there.
Much love y’all & pure, pure Joy,
