“I’d traded in a pack of lies for a pack of truth, and I didn’t know which one was heavier. Which one took the most strength to carry around? It was a ridiculous question, though, because once you know the truth, you can’t ever go back and pick up your suitcase of lies. Heavier or not, the truth is yours now.”
― Sue Monk Kidd, The Secret Life of Bees
How many of us live in a house of lies just because facing the truth seems so much harder? What are we afraid of anyway?
A question worth asking.
Fear reigns while freedom waits ever-patient in the corners ~
Love beckons & calls out to our bedraggled souls to come home ~ to the Truth. Whatever that is for you. And me.
We are really all just one faith-based decision away from the other side of our prison doors.
Jesus died to give us freedom from fear.
He died to give us abundant life.
He suffered in our place & made the Ultimate Sacrifice.
It is finished. It was enough.
No matter how big a mess we made, no matter how ugly & vile the sin & stain.
He lives. And we should too.
I mean really, really live.
It’s ours for the taking.
Step out, God’s got you.
Much love & more truth & freedom ~ layer by beautiful layer,
Galatians 5:1 ~ It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
